On April 14, 2024, Hum Madadgaar Yuva Foundation (HMYF) made a significant impact on the lives of many in Purnia by organizing a free eye check-up camp. This noble initiative, held in collaboration with Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital, took place at the Durga Mandir Campus near Jhanda Chowk, Line Bazar, Purnia. The camp was a testament to the foundation’s commitment to providing essential healthcare services to those in need.
A Day of Sight and Service
The event began at 9 AM and saw a large turnout of people who otherwise could not afford eye care. With the assistance of three dedicated doctors, three nurses, and other staff from Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital, the camp was well-equipped to handle the influx of patients. Over the course of the day, 157 people received comprehensive eye examinations. The results were heartening: 19 individuals were identified as needing cataract surgery, which will be provided free of charge by Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital.
A Community Effort
The smooth execution of the camp was made possible by the tireless efforts of HMYF volunteers who managed the logistics and ensured that every patient received the care they needed. Shamim Ansari, the Head of Hum Madadgaar Yuva Foundation, expressed his gratitude towards the volunteers, stating, “We are deeply thankful for the selfless dedication of our volunteers who ensured that the camp ran smoothly. Their efforts are at the heart of our mission to serve the community.”

Shamim Ansari emphasized that this camp is just the beginning. “We will organize events like this regularly to help the needy people. That is the motto of our NGO,” he said.
